Maison Régnard

Overview

A Chablis négociant producing wines across a range from Bourgogne Chardonnay and Bourgogne Pinot Noir through premier and grand cru Chablis. Their villages-level wines are priced attractively and show good quality; their “Grand Régnard” bottling blends premier cru and grand cru fruit. Hand harvesting noted even at villages level (Chablis “Saint Pierre”). The style is primarily stainless steel, with some premier cru wines seeing a proportion of older oak.

Appellations

  • Chablis (villages “Saint Pierre,” premier cru Montmains, Fourchaume; grand cru les Preuses; “Grand Régnard” blended premier/grand cru)
  • Bourgogne Chardonnay
  • Bourgogne Pinot Noir (fruit sourced from Côte de Beaune)

Style Notes

Régnard produces a wide range at consistent quality. The villages wines represent genuine value; the grand cru “les Preuses” (2021) was described as fully mature and drinking in its plateau at four years of age. The Bourgogne Pinot Noir (2022) is described as “very good example” with tangy acids and moderate tannins.
