Domaine Jean-Marc / Thomas Bouley
Overview
Domaine Jean-Marc Bouley (now transitioning to Thomas Bouley, the son) is a traditional Volnay producer with village and premier cru holdings in Volnay, as well as Pommard, Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, and Meursault. The style is classical Volnay: silky, aromatic, elegant. Thomas Bouley has been taking over responsibilities and expanding the range.

Style Notes
Classic Volnay silkiness — feminine, fragrant, with fine tannin. The estate wines punch reliably for their appellation. The accelerating recent buying (42 of 61 bottles from 2022+) signals strong ongoing confidence in the producer.
2023 Vintage Notes
Visited January 2025. Full range produced in the generous 2023 vintage. Volnay premier crus showed the vintage’s characteristic richness and the appellation’s signature silkiness and perfume.
